Man v. Food
When we were featured on Man v. Food, it was a huge moment for us at Jethro's BBQ and for the Des Moines food scene. The episode, which aired on October 6, 2010, brought host Adam Richman into our restaurant to experience our bold, slow-smoked barbecue and over-the-top portions firsthand. Being showcased on Man v. Food allowed us to share our passion for barbecue with a national audience, and it remains one of the most exciting milestones in our story.
During the visit, Adam took on our legendary Adam Emmenecker Sandwich Challenge, one of the biggest and most talked-about food challenges in Iowa. This massive creation is stacked high with multiple smoked meats, layers of cheese, and all the fixings, served alongside a heaping portion of fries. Challengers have just 15 minutes to finish it all, making it a true test of appetite and determination. Since the episode aired, the challenge has become a must-try experience for BBQ lovers and competitive eaters, helping solidify Jethro's BBQ as a go-to destination for big flavors & fun.
